 ≫The State of Boryokudan

 | 
 Boryokudan are defined to be “any organized crime group likely to help its 
  members (including members of affiliated organization of social organization) to 
  collectively and habitually commit illegal acts of violence.” (Article 2, Item 2 of 
  the Act on Prevention of Unjust Acts by Organized Crime Group Members) and 
  as of the end of 2012, members including associates were recorded to be 
  63,200, a decrease of 7,100 from the previous year.
  Of these, regular members were 28,800, a decrease of 3,900 from the previous 
  year and associate members numbered 34,400, a decrease of 3,200 from the
